By completing the Online Reference Service Form, the patron acknowledges he/she has read the following:

Our goal is to provide reference assistance to those patrons who want electronic access to our Reference Department/Alabama Room.

General reference request should be directed by use of the Online Reference Form.  Genealogical questions should be directed to the Alabama Room using the Alabama Room Online Reference Form.

No recommendations, appraisals, interpretations, legal/medical advice will be given but reputable sources will be suggested.

• Questions must be brief and require short answers. Patrons should provide as much detailed information as possible.
• If your question requires in-depth research, we invite you to visit us at 108 East 10th Street, Anniston, Alabama  36201.
• Patrons are limited to 2 inquiries per request.
• For questions concerning availability of library materials, patrons should utilize the library's Online Catalog.
• The librarians will attempt to respond with an answer, or provide a suggestion for a source outside of the library.
• Response time to general reference questions will be within 24-48 hours. For requests during the weekend hours (Fri-Sun), a response may take longer.   Requests made through the Alabama Room may require two weeks for a response.
• Need it faster? Please call the library at 256-237-8501 and ask for the Reference Department or Alabama Room.
• Patrons can choose a preferred form of communication (e-mail or telephone) by which to receive the answer to their question. Alabama Room requests must include their street address.
• If a question cannot be answered from the initial e-mail, further communications will be necessary through the exchange of e-mail or a telephone call.
• Please be sure that your e-mail address is correctly typed in the form.
